Use of the Library
Students coming to the library from a classroom with plans to work on a project must bring a library pass from the classroom teacher.
Students coming from study hall must bring a library pass from the content teacher who has assigned the project to the student. The pass must be initialed by the study hall teacher before the student comes to the library.
All passes must indicate the topic of the project to be completed while in the media center.
Students wanting to check out, return or renew library materials may request a pass from the study hall teacher. Students may spend up to ten minutes selecting the material, after which they must check out and return to class.

Materials (with the exception of reference materials, audio-visual software and equipment) may be checked out for two weeks. Reference materials, audio-visual software and equipment may be checked out with teacher approval.
Materials may be renewed as often as needed unless there is a hold on the title.
Students may place a hold on materials that are checked out.
Grades 5 - 12 must pay late fines if materials are overdue. Students may arrange in advance with the librarian to work the fine off in the library instead of paying the fine, if preferred.
Students must pay for lost materials. The library will return the payment if the materials are found and returned to the library in good condition.

The library is a place to research, read, write, study, browse and check out books. Students must be respectfully quiet and courteous so all students in the library have a quiet atmosphere in which to concentrate.
As indicated in the school handbook, food and drink must remain outside the library.
Students with permission to read in the library may request the library pillows. Please remember these pillows are reading pillows, so students must be reading while using them.
